About us
Scout Centre Delft is made possible by volunteers. We have a diverse group of people that can take up a lot of the work involved with running a centre themselves. This includes minor maintenance work and board work. Throughout the year we organise several working days, on which many small jobs in and around the center itself are taken up.
The Scout Center is located in a monument that requires a lot of (and sometimes very specialized) maintenance. This maintenance is subsidized, so it can be carried out by professionals.
Our main activities as a Scout Centre are making it possible to organize (regional) Scouting activities on our site and renting out our buildings. In this way we try to be a great place for (Scouting) play and recreation and at the same time ensure sufficient resources to keep the Scout Centre running.
Working days
During the year we organize working days. On these days, all kinds of jobs are done by our volunteers. Small painting, green maintenance, there is always something to do on a historic site like the Kruithuis. The working days are usually organized on the last Friday of the month. In addition, work is also done on Sundays several times a year. This is very useful, but also a pleasant social gathering. And the materials and lunch are be provided. Yes this means a real Dutch sandwich with cheese and probably soup.
Of course, there are also many activities that take place outside the working days. Some on site, sometimes remote using all this modern technology.
Centre staff
Special volunteers are our centre staff. These are volunteers for our Scout Centre and have a unique location to live as one of the niceties during their management period. There is a house at the Scout Centre, where the manager couple lives.
